Advantages of the Whipsleeve Punch Whipsleeve punches are capable of piercing metal thickness which exceed the diameter of the punch. A vibration-absorbing, inert metal sleeve is cast at the point of the punch where failure normally occurs, thus greatly increasing punch life. Tondra™ is an exclusive surface treatment available on all HSS punches and dies. It imparts a glass-hard surface (RC 72-75) and offers the ultimate in resistance to abrasion, firing and galling. Straight-Ground grind lines are parallel to the axis and perpendicular to the line of potential fractures. This exclusive feature resists wear, minimizes "pick-up" and achieves maximum strength and punchability. |
