Protects People & Equipment
Magnesium safety blocks are used to
comply with OSHA machine tool guarding standards for operator
safety.
They also protect your equipment by shearing
at a 45-degree angle like a shear pin if subjected to an impact
load condition.
Determining Static Loads
Properly sized safety blocks support the combined weight
of both the ram and upper die in an open position.
Multiply the total calculated weight by a
minimum safety factor of TWO to establish the static load
requirement.
Determining Proper Lengths
Subtract up to two inches from the
available opening with stroke up and adjustment up to determine
the proper safety block length.
Selection
Find the Profile that satisifes the
static load requirement and length needed from the MAGBLOX
selection chart.
